В статье приводится впервые переведенный на русский язык отрывок из романа «Джауфре» - единственного написанного на окситанском языке произведения, которое относится к артуровскому циклу, и анализируется взаимосвязь текста с характерными особенностями региональной культуры юга Франции XIII в. При дворах феодалов сложился своеобразный этикет, получивший название cortesia - «куртуазность». Главными ценностями южного общества были Pretz и Paratge. Pretz - в буквальном смысле «цена», т. е. оценка человека. Стоящий человек - это совершенный рыцарь. Paratge подразумевает идею равновесия, правильного порядка вещей. Это нечто большее, чем просто честь, благородство, рыцарственность или вежество. Рыцарю подобало жить, шаг за шагом приближаясь к рыцарскому идеалу. Главной его целью провозглашалось самоусовершенствование - Melhorar. Роль рыцарских добродетелей, освещенных в романе, была чрезвычайно велика в жизни окситанских рыцарей, о чем повествуют контекстные исторические источники.
The article deals with an episode from the "Jaufre" romance translated from Occitan to Russian for the first time. It is the unique specimen of Occitan text based on Arthurian legendarium that happened to survive till our days. The correlations between the text and some characteristic features of the regional culture of the Southern France in the XIIIth century are analyzed. Main values of the Southern culture were Pretz and Paratge. Pretz means literally «price», but it was the measure of human virtues. The most valuable man was the perfect knight. Paratge implies such features as honor, noble mind, but it also includes the ideas of equilibrium, the righteous order of things. A knight ought to live according strict rules, known as cortesia, approaching step by step to a chivalrous ideal. Self–perfection (Melhorar) was proclaimed the main goal of a knight's life. We can see that these virtues were not an abstraction for Occitan knights by comparing the text of the romance with known historical facts.
