The Department of history carries out the following annual international and all-Russian Scientific Conference:

  • Modernization in Russia: Economy, Politics, Culture
  • The Capital and Province

For the last three years 20 post-graduate students have defended Candidates dissertations.

The Faculty regularly carries out international and Russian scientific and practical Conferences, which most students actively participate in, especially those who are the members of Student Scientific Society (SSS). During the four years of study at the undergraduate program and two years of master's degree program the students regularly travel to different internships and practices.

Great attention in the work of the Faculty is paid to the formation of civic and patriotic consciousness of University students and secondary school students of Leningrad region. Scientific and Educational Center for Historical Research and Analysis (headed by Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor M. Frolov) and the Department of History (headed by Doctor of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor V. Veremenko.) traditionally hold Memorial events dedicated to the Days of Military Glory, the significant dates of the national history and other. The teachers of the Department actively cooperate with State and municipal authorities, Veterans and youth organizations, educational institutions of St. Petersburg and the region.
